So I am pretty sure that everyone in world is aware of Chris Brown and Frank Oceans’ little “scuffle” that recently took place [shocking]. This is not the only altercation that Brown and Frank have been involved in. These two have been at it since the beginning of Oceans career from arguing back and forth via Twitter, why? Who knows. But what we do know is that this is nothing but high school-my-lyrics-are-better-than-yours-male-echo drama. You would think that they would have better things to do with their time beside going back and forth with one another on Twitter and fighting over a parking space. Yes, a parking space. The physical altercation took place outside of a recording studio, assuming the two pulled up at the same time, words were exchanged and then blows were thrown. I would have loved to know exactly what was said before they fought. In addition, I feel like there is more brewing between these two and there is a deeper meaning behind their dislike for one another. Either way it goes, it’s just plain out ridiculous and both need a bit more of maturity under their belt. I am more of a fan for Frank Ocean for more than I am for Chris Brown due to the fact that Franks’ lyrics have more depth, in contrast to Chris which are just written to the beat. So if the beef is between their song written skills? Hands down, Frank Ocean has won that fight. In other words, I really hope these two find a common ground and agree to disagree before it gets out of hand.
On a more serious matter, Rick Ross aka “Mr. Rozay”, was allegedly a target of a drive- by shooting on Las Olas Boulevard in Fresno, CA. Luckily, Ross as well as his girlfriend who was with him at the time of the incident, walked away shaken, but no serious injuries was done. If this situation sounds familiar, you are right. It happened years ago (in California as well) to a well-known rapper by the name of Christopher “Biggie Smalls” Wallace. He was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting at a stop light leaving a party at a local club. Unfortunately, this case still reminds unsolved and his death still leave sadness to those who grow up listening to his music as well as to those in the music industry. It’s a freighting thought how the two are similar to each other, but one was spared a chance to change. Hopefully, this is a wake up called for Mr. Rozay.
This rap game has to change.
Justin Timberlake is bringing in the new year right. With finding a new love, his wife Jessica Biel, he’s decided to return back to his first love, his music. After a long hiatus, he had to come hard and come big, so he collaborated with Jay-Z for a smash hit. His lasts single is called “Suit and Tie” and well, it has J.T written all over it. This track is from his upcoming album, “The 20/20 Experience” which is due to drop sometime this year. He is defiantly bringing sexy back in 2013. Listen for yourself.
I am fan of supporting a good hustle and good music, so I wanted to share this with others as well. Triphorz is a group of young producers from Florida who consist of Audi-O, L.B, and aliynman. This track is called “Instagram” which has a sexy club banger feel to it, which I am sure will be a hit when it hits the streets. This track was written and performed by Audio featuring another Florida artist E-Lo “The Champ”. If cant get enough, which I am sure you will, this song is available on ITunes, Amazon and Spotify as well. Keep doing your thing Triphorz!

We’re all familiar with Bruno Mars, if you’re not, back in 2010 he debuted his first album, “Doo-Wops & Hooligans“. Off that album were the hits, “Grenade” and “Just the Way You Are”. Bruno was also featured on B.O.B’s hit song “Nothing on You” which put him on the list of new artist to watch. Now, Bruno is back with his sophomore album, “Unorthodox Jukebox”, which already has topped the Billboards charts at #2 and that it deserves. I must say, the title of the album fits the music because it’s a funky mixture of blues, R&B, soul and similar to songs you would hear coming from, well, an old school jukebox. His newest single off his sophomore album, “Locked Out of Heaven” is a smash hit which plays a factor to the overwhelming response of his album. Out of the ten tracks off the album, I must say that “Gorilla” is a sexy soulful version of Trey Songz,”Neighbor Know my Know”. Also, for the ladies there’s, “Treasure”, which has an upbeat funky feel good vibe to it. Then there’s, “When I was your man” which is a song I am pretty most guys can relate too. Interestingly, the song that made my head tilt to the side was a track called, “Natalie”. All I have to say about this particular track is that I feel bad for whoever this women is that he is speaking of, and I am going to leave it at that. Lastly, Bruno decided to add a little reggae flare to his album with his track, “Show Me”. Overall, Bruno Mars knocked this one out the park. The album is considerably very well thought out vocally and lyrically which is the reason why it is inches away from reaching #1 on the Billboard charts. Kudos to Bruno!
